               Flan is a dish that can be both sweet or savory.Flan is            a pastry with an inner filling.It has been around for many                  years dating back to about 1475. 
                   In the middle ages sweet flans were stuffed with                       almonds,sweet cheeses, and sugar.Savory and main course                  flans were stuffed with eel.Both were very popular                           in Europe.The custard filled flans were thought to be                         healthy  foods.Caramel covered sweet sweet flan was                        started in France.

The word sheish kabob means gobbets of meat.Original sheish kabobs were pieces of marinaded lamb on four sides metal blades.The word kabob also means to roast. Kabobs are a very popular and traditional in Turkey. There are many types of kabobs with different meats and seasonings.

                   Foods  From  Around The World
   


       This weeks food is from Somalia and is also a Middle Eastern food.It is called Halwa, it is a sweet food that is really chewy.It is  eaten with tea and cookies for dessert .It is usually eaten on special occasions like Eid , a Muslim holiday.It is usually served warm so that way it is easy to bite.

       Halwa is made of ...                                        .corn starch
 .white sugar  
 .water 
 .a pinch of brown sugar 
 .canola oil  
 .cardamon 
 .nutmeg 
.a hint of orange zest and food coloring. 

Halwa takes about one hour  to cook  and stir on the stove-top .You must also wait 30 minutes for it to settle and cool down.Never eat it right away because it is really hot when it comes off the stove.

    I love  gymnastics it is one of  my  favorite sports .   Cartwheeling across the floor listening to my favorite music.    In my opinion the beam is my least favorite.I also love swimming the feel of the water all around me is the best in the world.
