                   Foods  From  Around The World

This weeks food is from Somalia and is also a Middle Eastern food.It is called Halwa, it is a sweet food that is really chewy. It is  eaten with tea and cookies for dessert .It is usually eaten on special occasions like Eid , a Muslim holiday. It is usually served warm so that way it is easy to bite.

Halwa is made of ...                                        .corn starch
 .white sugar
 .water
 .a pinch of brown sugar
 .canola oil
 .cardamon
 .nutmeg
.a hint of orange zest and food coloring.

Halwa takes about one hour  to cook  and stir on the stove-top .You must also wait 30 minutes for it to settle and cool down.Never eat it right away because it is really hot when it comes off the stove.

  1. Manar, this is awesome. You've done a great job, I love seeing your pictures and your own recipe! Could you separate the ingredients with bullet points to make it read more like a recipe? I want to try to make some.
